Quality Assurance

The BIAN Quality Assurance Working Group is an internal body requested by the BIAN Architecture Committee. The Working Group ensures the quality check and optimizes the review process of BIAN deliverables by using expert subject matter knowledge and the guidelines and templates.

Objectives and Scope

  • The authority of the Quality Assurance Working Group is limited to review of BIAN deliverables based on expert knowledge and existing guidelines and templates. If a section of the deliverable is not covered by existing documentation, the group is not to debate undefined areas as this is beyond the mandate of this working group. The section of the document in question will be tentatively approved and notes made to send to the appropriate architecture working group.

Deliverables

The review team has the authority to make the following decisions on the status of a deliverable.

  • Return for Rework – Significant changes need to be made to the deliverable warranting rework of complete sections of the deliverable. The deliverable returns to the Working Group. Once the rework is accomplished, the deliverable comes back to the QA WG for another review.
  • Approved with Comments – Minor changes need to be made to the document. The Working Group reviews the proposed changes and then submits a revised version to the Architecture Committee for review and approval before going to the Board of Directors.
