Gartner Analysis: BIAN update
by Mary Knox and Don Free
April 25, 2011
BIAN gives members the opportunity to share their experiences and practices as they develop their own internal service landscape definitions, while creating a shared-industry vision, vocabulary, and common approach to defining SOA domains and services (see "Gartner's Viability Assessment of BIAN"). Gartner believes BIAN has the potential to offer significant value to banks and vendors pursuing SOA initiatives — that is, if it successfully provides a standardized service landscape and vocabulary for discussing, assessing and comparing SOA approaches in banks.
