Dominic (Don) Trotta / Member of the Board / SAP AG
Global Head of Financial Services Industry

Dominic (Don) Trotta is the senior vice president, and Global Head of Financial Services, SAP AG. As the head of the financial services sector globally, Trotta is responsible for product strategy, development and overall market positioning activities for SAP in the banking and insurance industry space. He assumed the role in August 2009, and reports to Dr. Kerstin Geiger, Global Head of Industry Solutions, SAP AG.

A key player in the financial service sector for over 25 years, Trotta has been technology officer and chief information officer for top-tier global financial institutions including Barclays, Citigroup, Chase Manhattan and American press.

At Barclays, Trotta held the position of Group Chief Information Officer and led an organization that provided overall global technology support covering retail, commercial, credit cards, wealth management and corporate services. Five years prior to joining Barclays, Trotta was the Chief Technology Officer for Citibank North America, as well as founding and chairing the operations
and technology council which governs Citibank’s international technology and operations activities.

In such roles as senior technology and operations executive role at some of the industry’s largest and most global financial services organizations, Trotta was responsible for and led many large scale operations and technology integrations, as well as strategic reengineering and transformation projects.

Over the years, Trotta served on numerous financial services and CIO advisory boards for major industry organizations, such as, HP, Accenture, Unisys, NCR/Teradata, The Research Board, MasterCard and Visa. And in 2007 he was nominated for CIO of the year in the FT Bankers Award.
Trotta received a master’s degree in technology management and computer science from Polytechnic University of New York, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Queens College, The City University of New York. He also attended an executive management program conducted by the Harvard Business School.
